Better Hometown Association
Woodbine is one of Georgia’s Better Hometowns. This designation was received from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs in 2000. The program helps small communities enhance the quality of life for its citizens. This assistance is provided through partnerships with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and other local, state, and federal agencies. This program was developed by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) as a small town version of its Classic Main Street program. Current membership is a volunteer base of approximately 25 individuals. The manager is a part-time employee – Beth Gowen.
All members of the Woodbine Community are welcomed and encouraged to participate in this organization. If attending meetings does not work with your schedule, but you wish to particispate on projects, please let us know. We would welcome any assistance you can provide.
BHT Mission Statement: Working as a volunteer organization to assist with the development of the Downtown District and to enhance the quality of life for our community.

Monthly meetings are held at city hall on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:00 pm. No meetings are scheduled for June or July. Please check the Woodbine City Calendar for changed meeting times or called meetings for the council and all city related business meetings.
